Sangkhlaburi district, a border of Thailand – Myanmar, is located 215 kilometers away from Kanchanaburi’s town. Sangkhlaburi is the city of fertility and the various cultures, which combined Thai, Karen, Mon, Laos and Myanmar villagers together. It is surrounded by plants and mountains, which the location is called “Sam Pra Sob” or Three Suffering due to the confluence of the Beekly, Rantee and Song Kalia rivers. Those rivers have become the vital river of Mons in both countries.
Wat Tham Khoa Wong, Uthai Thani, Thailand
Wat Tham Khao Wong is located on Tambon Baan Rai, Utai Thani province and far12 kilometers from the district. This Dharma retreat on the hill is a four storey building and made of teak wood, Makha wood and the woods that were donated from old wooden houses in Thailand. Within the building, there are pavilions, viharn, kuti, a belfry and even a church together. From the outside, tourists might see only a huge wooden house surrounded by a towering limestone like some luxurious resort. In fact, this place is where most Buddhists come to learn Dharma, do a meditation, pray and respect the Buddha images. There is also a pond decorated with rock gardens and ornamental plants which costs more than 30 million baths in total for the construction.
Wat Chantaram (Wat Tha Sung), Uthai Thani Province, Thailand
“Wat Chantaram” is flankly known as “Wat Tha Sung” because, in the past, this area was the main transportation for a log raft. After 47 years without a renovation, Phra Raj Phrom Yan ( LP Lue Sie Lingdam) came to renovate and decorate this temple with a skillful artist. The temple became popular with an exquisite architecture and deliberately decoration. Including the power of faith from the local people to LP Lue Sie Lingdam that makes Wat Chantaram one of the tourist attractions in Ayutthaya.
Wat Pha Tang, Uthai Thani Province, Thailand
Wat Pha Tang is unknown the truly constructed year. It was located nearby the village entrance. Currently, Baan Pha Tang (The village) becomes a center of historic pattern homespun. Due to a small and floodable area, the temple was moved to Hauy Haeng, Baan Rai, Uthai Thani province in 2471 BE. The reputation of Wat Pha Tang is about a magnificent Luang Phor To image, which is the biggest monk image in Uthai Tani.
