“Wat Chantaram” is flankly known as “Wat Tha Sung” because, in the past, this area was the main transportation for a log raft. After 47 years without a renovation, Phra Raj Phrom Yan ( LP Lue Sie Lingdam) came to renovate and decorate this temple with a skillful artist. The temple became popular with an exquisite architecture and deliberately decoration. Including the power of faith from the local people to LP Lue Sie Lingdam that makes Wat Chantaram one of the tourist attractions in Ayutthaya.

Somdej Ong Prathom
“Phra Viharn Somdej Ong Prathom” is outstanding located on the opposite side. The imitate of the First Buddha image has installed here regarding the supernatural phenomenon by LP Lue Sie Lingdam’s meditation in 2511 BE. He decided to build the image reminding of the Buddha kindness at that time. Inside of the viharn is lavish decorated with a unique pattern.
A standing Buddha image and Chedi Pud-Tan
Luang Phor Ngern (A standing Buddha image) has installed with the height of 15 meters in front of Tripitaka Hall by Buddhist donation. The standing image is famous because LP Lue Sie Lingdam claimed that this sacred image blesses money for people with well praying. On the left side of this image, you can find Chedi Pud-Tan, with octagon base and Pud-Tan (or cotton rose) leaves and flowers pattern on the pagoda. The Buddha’s relics have contained within the pagoda –including others sacred things and jewels.
Inside The Golden Castle
Golden Castle decorated with Thai artistic pattern and full with gold-leaf on the glasses around the castle. There are the 4 meters height arches of Buddha images on the top on the castle which attract all tourists. The Golden Castle has dedicated to celebrate 50th Anniversary of King Bhumibol's reign and then be named "Pra Sat Thong Kanchanapisek" by Royal Household. There are three floors in the Castle. The 1st floor was a museum of LP Lue Sie Lingdam with all his stuff. Now, it becomes a museum of Thai Royal history. For the Buddha images, which have been given from Buddhist, are kept on the 2nd and 3rd floors and not allow visiting due to incomplete renovation.
Inside The Large Glass Viharn
For the highlight of Wat Tha Sung, it is “The Large Glass Viharn”. For this important viharn, there are the statues of King Rama I, V, VI and VII–including the picture of King Rama IX in the front These structures are made of white mosaic and filled with more than 119 chandeliers along the hall way. The vihanr also installs an imitating image Shinaratr and the undecomposed body of LP Lue Sie Lingdam. When the lights turned on, the mosaic reflection makes the place sparkling as if you are in a heaven.
