1. Sunset View Point
Sunset View Point is only a few minutes from the centre of Goreme. This spot offers panoramic views across Goreme. Sunset View Point is the perfect location from which to take photos of the dramatic Cappadocia landscape, and definitely it is also a great spot for capturing the hot air balloons take off in the morning. Sunset View Point is one of the most memorable photo locations in Cappadocia. It is incredible to watch the huge balloons inflate and the morning sky lit up in a sea of colours as the balloons were fired up.
Tip : Head to high ground after the balloons take off for taking photos of them floating past nearly within touching distance. Aim to get out to the launch site and allow 15-20 minutes to climb up the hill before the sun is due to rise.

2. Ethem Ustanin
The fantasticview from the roof top make the Ethem Ustanin one of the best photo spots in Cappadocia. Located beside Dervis Sarlak Parki, the Ethem Ustanin has sweeping views across Goreme houses and Ortahisar Kalesi on the horizion. Their trademark wicker love seat on the roof makes for truly unique photos against the backdrop of the Cappadocian landscape.

3. Mitra Cave Hotel
The roof terrace of Mitra Cave Hotel is one of the best photo locations in Cappadocia offering the breathtaking view of the hot air balloons rising over Goreme and the Cappadocia Valleys. The unique cave hotel terraces are photography heaven, and are set up with colourful rugs and cushions as well as a beautiful Turkish breakfast spread on the rooftop which makes for great photos against the stunning backdrop of a balloon filled valley.
Tip : Due to the popularity of the hotel only guests are allowed onto the roof terrace and the staff do check. If visitors would like to take photos from the Mitra Cave Hotel it’s probably best to reserve a room.

4. Pasabag Fairy Chimneys
The iconic Cappadocia Fairy Chimneys are a group of rock formations which were one million years in the making. The Pasabag Fairy Chimneys located a few kilometers off the main road between Goreme and Avanos. There are fairy chimneys dotted all around Cappadocia but the Pasabag Fairy Chimneys is the largest valley in one place. These Fairy Chimneys are really unique and offer joyful excellent photo opportunities.
Tip : The fairy chimney valley always gets busy during the day with tour buses due to its location right beside the main road. So try to visit just before sunset or early in the morning if you would like to avoid the crowds.

5. Love Valley
Love Valley, located 10 - 15 minutes from Goreme on a dirt track parallel to the main road between Goreme and Cavusin. This stunning area is truly a hidden gem in Cappadocia. It is great for after sunrise photo shooting as this area is the landing site for the hot air balloon rides. Watching the balloons land is a fun experience and offers a chance for a different perspective for some balloon filled photos of Cappadocia.
Tip : Love Valley is the usual landing are for the balloons, so once you’ve finished watching sunrise, heading straight to Love Valley to capture the balloons before they land. However the track can be quite rough and is busy with locals so drive carefully.

6. Devrent Valley
Devrent Valley or Imaginary Valley is a short drive from Goreme. There are no caves, churches or inhabited in this particular area. Devrent Valley does boast a stunning landscape that looks like the moon landscape. The valley is also famous for the rock formations which visitors have to use imagination when looking at their shapes. Some of the easiest seen animal shapes are camel, snake, seals, and dolphin. And the most famous formation is camel like in its shape.
Tip : The main stop for Devrent Valley always gets crowded with tour buses, for peacefully taking in the view and capture photos is the car park further along the main road which overlooks Devrent Valley.

7. Aydin Kiragi
Aydin Kiragi (The hill between Goreme and Love valley) is one of the most popular spots in the Cappadocia. Aydin Kiragi is only 5 minute walk from Goreme town center. If you’re going to Cappadocia, you must climb this hill. You won’t be disappointed with what your eyes can see form this spot. After a few minutes you’ll come to a cliff edge and a truly beautiful view across the Cappadocia landscape. This location also offers great opportunities to take some of the best pictures of the hot air balloons, the most amazing sunrise and sunset as well.
